In order to convict someone of Unlawful Use of a Weapon (Unlawful Discharge of a Weapon Within City Toward Person or Property), the state must prove each of the following elements beyond a reasonable doubt:

The act occurred on or about the alleged date.
The defendant intentionally discharged a firearm, blowgun, bow and arrow, crossbow, or explosive device within the city limits of any city or a residential area within urban growth boundaries.
The defendant discharged the firearm, blowgun, bow and arrow, crossbow, or explosive device at or in the direction of a person, building, structure, or vehicle.
The person, building, structure, or vehicle was within the range of the firearm, blowgun, bow and arrow, crossbow, or explosive device when the defendant discharged it.
The defendant had no legal authority for such discharge.
